Three officers were promoted to Assistant Commissioner of Police and five to Senior Superintendent of Police at a ceremony at the Police Administration Building on Wednesday.
The ceremony was attended by Homeland Security Minister Roger Alexander, Commissioner of Police Allister Guevarro, Deputy Commissioners Junior Benjamin, Natasha George and Suzette Martin, Police Service Association president, heads of departments and units, and members of the First Division.
Alexander urged the newly promoted officers to remain visible and accessible to the public, particularly in the communities under their charge.
Guevarro said the promotions recognised the officers’ hard work, dedication and commitment to the Police Service. He reminded them that their new ranks carried greater responsibility and urged them to lead from the front while maintaining professionalism and accessibility.
The ceremony also recognised the support of the officers’ colleagues, families and the wider Police Service as they took on their new responsibilities.
