The economy and trade minister has approved a series of decisions allowing several foreign companies to open branches in the country.
An official statement said the measures include authorising new branches, extending the licences of existing ones, and approving a commercial agency activity. The move is part of broader efforts to simplify procedures for investors and stimulate economic activity.
The ministry explained that the step reflects its strategy to improve the business environment, build confidence in the national economy, and attract foreign investment across multiple sectors.
The companies granted approval to open branches include firms from Hungary, Spain, the United Kingdom, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia, operating in sectors such as energy, information technology and oilfield services.
The licence of a Dutch oil and gas systems company was also extended, while a Libyan firm was granted approval to operate as a commercial agent for importing machinery and equipment.
