The head of the Chamber of Industry and Mines of Herat, Mohammad Nasir Amin Bakhtar, told the news agency that Herat’s stone industry has reached the stage of self-sufficiency and its products are exported to Turkmenistan, Iran and some Arab countries.
According to him, millions of dollars have been invested in the extraction, production and processing of stone in Herat, which has led to the growth of the industry, the increase in exports and the creation of job opportunities.
According to the local officials, various ornamental stones are produced in these factories in different types and sizes, which are famous in terms of quality and have a good market.
It is worth noting that about 1000 active women are working in Herat Industrial Town, which has provided employment opportunities for many people.
