
Khawaja Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui, Commander of Agricultural Affairs, told Bakhtar News Agency that this year, wheat was planted on 12,353 hectares of irrigated and 300 hectares of dry land, and about 40 percent of the province’s wheat needs have been met.
According to him, the use of improved seeds and chemical fertilizers, the control of plant pests and the technical training of thousands of farmers are important factors for increasing the yield.
It is worth noting that the Department of Agriculture plans to distribute improved seeds and chemical fertilizers to thousands of farmers in the two districts of Kapisa next year.
