Two men were chased and killed in a hail of bullets in Siparia on Saturday night. The bodies of Kwame Parris, 29, alias “Six,” of Coconut Alley, Siparia, and Teshawn Baptiste, 25, also known as “Blackboy,” of Lowkie Trace, Penal, were discovered in Sennon Village after residents reported hearing loud explosions around 9 p.m.
Residents told police they heard several gunshots and saw two men running. Minutes later, Parris was found lying face down near the bathroom area of a house, bleeding from gunshot wounds.
Baptiste’s body was later discovered in a drain along Railway Road, Sennon Village Extension, with multiple gunshot wounds.
Police recovered more than 25 spent 9mm and 5.56mm casings, along with seven live rounds of ammunition, from the scene.
The killings occurred in a neighbouring community where three murders have been recorded within the last month.
Last Thursday, Akiel Packette, 40, of Taylor Avenue, Quinam Road, was shot dead around 8:40 p.m. outside Packette Delights along Quinam Road. A 25-year-old hairdresser who was sitting beside him with her five-year-old daughter was wounded in the attack, while the child escaped injury.
Akiel’s younger brother, Osei Packette, was murdered during a birthday celebration on Taylor Avenue on June 19. Osei was shot dead, while another man, Nicholas Mark, was stabbed to death.
Police believe those killings were linked to drug-related activities. No arrests have been made in connection with those murders.
