The Dominica Amateur Basketball Association (DABA) has unveiled a 21-man training squad from which the country’s senior men’s national team will be selected for next month’s FIBA AmeriCup 2029 Caribbean Pre-Qualifiers.
A DABA release said that Dominica is set to compete in the regional tournament scheduled for July 8–12, 2026, in Georgetown, Guyana. The competition will bring together national teams from across the Caribbean, including Bermuda, Haiti, Grenada, Barbados, Antigua and Barbuda, the Turks and Caicos Islands, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the Cayman Islands, and host nation Guyana.
The selected players, drawn from several local clubs, will begin preparations as they vie for spots on the final roster that will represent Dominica at the event.
Police Sports is represented by Daniel Ormond and Nathan Sebastien, while PSC Falcons contributes Yawani Regis, Karim Daniel, Kijuan Thomas and Ramal Carbon. Thomas Felix has been selected from Prowlers, and Ethan Boland from Marigot Sunrise.
D-Tread Blazers have four players in the training pool: Zack Bastien, Sergi Joseph, Maxwell Birmingham, and Lester Langlais. BAA Sharks are represented by Kerbin Nanthan, Rene Williams, Jaiden Scotland, and Christian Scotland. The 767 Dominators also have a strong presence with Sharmar Felicite, Kelsey Guye, Jacob Barry, and Andel Olivacce earning selection, while Sherron Vidal joins the squad from West Coast Ballers.
The tournament is viewed as an important component of DABA’s ongoing efforts to re-establish Dominica as a competitive force in Caribbean basketball. The association also sees the event as an opportunity to strengthen the development pathway for emerging players, coaches, and officials who will shape the future of the sport nationally.
