Today, Saturday, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Kamal Badari, received a high-level scientific delegation, headed by the President of the Chinese International Educational Fund, Wei Yong, accompanied by the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Algeria, Dong Gongli.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Higher Education, Wei Yong expressed his interest in opening several branches of the Confucius Institute to teach the Chinese language, in light of the great success the institute is witnessing.
For his part, the Minister called for deepening cooperation in the future in the field of science and technology, between the five higher schools of the scientific and technological pole, Chahid Abdelhafid Ahdadden-Sidi Abdellah, and the prestigious Chinese universities.
The Confucius Institute is an educational and cultural center affiliated with the Chinese government, usually established within universities or educational institutions in various countries of the world, with the aim of teaching the Chinese language and spreading Chinese culture.
In September 2025, the University of Algiers 2 inaugurated the first Confucius Institute for teaching the Chinese language in Algeria.
