CHICAGO — Officially, the summit for democratic socialists across the country here this weekend was taking place in a hotel conference facility.
But on Friday night, the real action was at a corner bar two miles away, where dozens of members of the Democratic Socialists of America crammed into a patio in the middle of a summer storm.
