Latvian TV show star Dāvids Krūmiņš, who is wanted internationally, wrote a touching post on the social website “Facebook” on Easter, addressing his daughter.
“Some time will pass and you and I will be sitting by the forest by the lake by the fire and grilling sausages. After a long day of hiking, I will pull out my phone and show you this misery. And then I will tell you about my adventures during this time. And I will teach you what it means to never stop – even when you are tired and without strength. I will teach you what it means not to give up. And I will teach what is good and what is evil. That good and bad is not what is written on paper or the stereotypes and thinking of some part of society, but it is based on your own decisions – according to your conscience and humanity. In an international operation led by the German police, in which the VP, as well as the law enforcement authorities of Denmark, France and Europol participated, four Latvian nationals were detained on the territory of Germany on suspicion of organizing a kidnapping.
This international operation targets a group of mercenaries hired by a rival organized crime group to kidnap the head of an Albanian drug trafficking ring. The person who was about to be kidnapped is connected to the organization of the theft of several tons of marijuana worth several million euros.
During the investigation, evidence was obtained of the connection of persons with the criminal offense, and the police, in cooperation with the VP Anti-Terrorism Unit “Omega” in Riga, arrested a man born in 1990, who had taken it upon himself to organize a kidnapping. On the other hand, the other accomplices of the crime were detained in France, Denmark and Great Britain, respectively.
