DAUPHINE UNITED registered an eight run win over Country Meet Town Out Ah Trouble to kick the weekend’s action in the National Lotteries Authority TBPO 20/20 Softball Cricket Competition at the Dauphine Playing Field.
Dauphine United made 120 for 7 in 20 overs: Juwan Laborde scored 27, and Asborne Franklyn made 23 not out, Bowling for Out Ah Trouble, Richie Richards and Travis Cumberbatch each took 2 for 24.
The potent Out Ah Trouble batting had a power failure this time and were dismissed for 112 in 19.3 overs.
Javid Harry led with 56. Danroy Hazel 3 for 32, Nicholas Holder 2 for 6, and MacLean Browne 2 for 36, engineered Dauphine United’s win with the ball.
In Saturday’s second match, Fairbaine United beat Older Boys by five wickets.
Older Boys reached 94 for 3 in 12 overs, as the match was reduced because of a late start. Ovando Obrian 50, and Deron Henry 22, were the main batters, whilst Christon Williams scalped 2 for 8.
In response, Fairbaine United made 97 for 5 in 10.4 overs; Christon Williams was 18 not out.
Sunday’s schedule got off to a bad start as East Kingstown forfeited their fixture to Owia Strikers.
However, in the second match, Owia Strikers powered past Duck Squad by 175 runs.
