The commission appointed by the president Luis Abinader held a meeting with the former president Danilo Medina, in search of achieving a national agreement to face the global crisis and reduce its impact on Dominican families in the face of the war conflict in Middle East.
After the meeting, the president of the Dominican Liberation Party (PLD) He indicated that they listened to what the Executive Branch had to say and that they also presented their thoughts on what the management of the crisis should be; However, he indicated that they will not present public opinions until they have the final report from the Government.
“We have listened with great interest to the information we have received from the government delegation that is present here this afternoon, and we have agreed with them that we are going to be waiting for them to present the plan that they will soon prepare. And as soon as we receive the plan, we are going to share it with the party leadership for any suggestion or any approach that we can make in that direction,” said Medina.

Paliza thanked Medina for receiving them and giving an “example” of democracy in the region.
“In a country where even in differences we can build a better Dominican Republic and where we often dispose of our own interests in favor of collective interests, the fact that we are today in the Presidential House of the Dominican Liberation Party and the time that has been given to us, has been delegated to us, and above all, the pleasant conversation that we have had, where ideas, proposals, initiatives that are of collective interest, that collaborate and contribute to the moment, especially the moment that we live in today, always arise, Paliza exclaimed.
For his part, Medina also reciprocated Paliza’s words by thanking the fact that “they have had the delicacy to come and explain to us as a party, as an opposition party, the problems they face and the difficulties that may arise in the immediate future.”
Since last Sunday President Abinader appointed the commission in search of achieving a national consensus To mitigate the effects of the crisis, this was the second meeting held by the Government.
The first was on Thursday afternoon with representatives of the different business associations, while next Wednesday they are scheduled to meet with former president Leonel Fernández.
