The police moved out to help a woman in Nuuk. But she proved to be very ungrateful.
Warden Aputsiaq Hansen and the police’s 24-hour report reports violence against a police officer. It happened in Nuussuaq around three in the morning between Friday and Saturday.
The police had received a report that a woman had gone to sleep outside in the cold. But after the police arrived at the scene, she became violent and kicked a police officer, reports the warden.
The police arrested the woman and placed her in detention. She can now look forward to a legal aftermath.
Moderation is good
Alcohol was again a factor in many incidents between Friday and Saturday. Two men have been arrested for drink-driving in Nuuk and Nuussuaq respectively, and there is also street disorder and unrest in homes.
– People need to think about the consequences before they drink too much. They must take responsibility, both for themselves and for the safety of others, says Aputsiaq Hansen.
He also reminds that young people can always call or write to Tusaanngaif they experience thoughts of suicide or other problems in life.
