Dadvan Yousuf, Trade Commissioner of the Republic of Nauru to the United Arab Emirates, today announced the launch of the Pacific Digital Assets Forum (PDAF), a new platform established to support research, education, and policy dialogue on digital assets and digital finance across the Pacific region.
The Forum aims to facilitate informed discussions among policymakers, academics, industry participants, and other stakeholders on regulatory developments, financial innovation, and emerging technologies. Through research publications, educational initiatives, and international engagement, the Forum seeks to contribute to greater understanding of the evolving digital asset ecosystem in Pacific Island jurisdictions.
The launch introduces two flagship initiatives scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2027.
The Pacific Digital Assets Report will be published annually and will examine regulatory developments, market trends, and digital finance across the Pacific. The report will include the inaugural Pacific Digital Assets Regulatory Index, which provides a comparative assessment of digital asset regulatory developments across Pacific Island jurisdictions.
The Pacific Digital Assets Conference will serve as an annual regional forum bringing together government representatives, regulators, academics, financial institutions, technology companies, investors, and other stakeholders to exchange perspectives on digital asset policy, regulation, innovation, and financial development. The inaugural conference is planned for the fourth quarter of 2027.
Commenting on the launch, Dadvan Yousuf said: “Effective regulation is not a barrier to innovation. It provides the confidence that innovation needs to grow. Through the Pacific Digital Assets Forum, we aim to create a platform that supports informed discussion, independent research, and international collaboration for the benefit of the Pacific region.”
The Pacific Digital Assets Forum is intended to encourage constructive dialogue and knowledge sharing while supporting research and education relating to digital assets and digital finance. The Forum does not exercise regulatory authority or establish government policy.
About the Pacific Digital Assets Forum
The Pacific Digital Assets Forum (PDAF) was established on 23 July 2026. The Forum is an initiative founded by Dadvan Yousuf, Trade Commissioner of the Republic of Nauru to the United Arab Emirates, who serves as its Founding Chair.
PDAF is headquartered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The Forum is governed by its Founding Chair and is in the process of establishing an independent Advisory Board through an open nomination process. The Advisory Board will provide strategic guidance and expertise to support the Forum’s research and educational activities.
