Tegucigalpa.
The National Congress summoned the advisor of the National Electoral Council Marlon Ochoa and the magistrate of the Electoral Justice Court Mario Morazan to appear this Monday, April 13, before the investigative commission within the framework of the impeachment process promoted against them.
According to the summons, Ochoa must appear at 9:00 in the morning, while Morazán was summoned for 11:00 am, both in the legislative chamber.
The appearance is part of the final stage of the investigation carried out by the commission, which seeks to determine responsibilities regarding the allegations that emerged after the 2025 electoral process.
The report prepared by this body will be sent to the Legislative Secretariat and will serve as a basis for the plenary session to decide whether to admit the case and listen to the indicated officials, prior to an eventual vote on their dismissal.
“They are summoned in legal and due form to appear before the commission, so that they can present what they consider pertinent in the exercise of their right of defense,” the official document states.
As established in the Special Impeachment Law, a possible dismissal will require the support of at least 86 deputies.
Since the beginning of 2026, different sectors have promoted actions against various officials linked to the electoral process, pointing out irregularities such as delays in the schedule, internal conflicts in the electoral body and decisions that would have affected the development of the democratic process.
