Ukrainian developer Maksym Gorbachev told on Reddit, who created the Lume extension for Chrome, which plots product prices on Rozetka, Comfy, and “anywhere.” It allows you to compare the cost of the product to find the cheapest offer, as well as to avoid fake discounts (which are preceded by a price increase), informs dev.ua.
“Hello. I wrote the Lume extension – it shows the price graph on any product page (Rozetka, Amazon, Bol.com, whatever). You can immediately see whether the discount is real or the price was jacked up before the promotion. It also searches for the same product in other stores and shows where it is cheaper.
Stack: Chrome Extension MV3 + FastAPI + SQLite. There is also a Telegram bot for alerts when the price changes. Now 26k+ price points across 70+ stores.
I will be glad if you take a look and tell me what you think, especially if something breaks in some store (there is also a report button in both the plugin and the bot),” writes Maksym Gorbachev.
From the message, you can understand that the extension works with online stores of both Ukrainian and global retailers and marketplaces. In a short time, Lume received 26,000 price points in more than 70 stores. It is based on SQLite, FastAPI and Chrome Extension MV3. The application caches data for 24 hours for fast work, and is also “sharpened” under the categories of household appliances and electronics, the products of which have clear model markings.
Lume is private and transparent: no registration required, open source, and no user data collected. The free extension is available on the official website and at Chrome Store.
