    China’s CHEC Co. confirms interest in Libyan market, readiness to enter effective investment partnerships in renewables with REAoL


    A meeting was held at the headquarters of the Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL) last Tuesday (2 June) between REAoL and a delegation from China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (CHEC). REAoL said the meeting comes within the framework of discussing opportunities for cooperation and investment in the renewable energy sector and infrastructure in Libya.

    The meeting began with a visual presentation presented by the Chinese company, during which it reviewed its most prominent projects and achievements in the fields of renewable energies, including solar and wind energy projects, in addition to its extensive experience in implementing road, bridge and infrastructure projects in several countries.

    During the meeting, the company’s representatives presented an overview of its technical and operational capabilities, stressing that the company possesses international experience in developing and implementing clean energy projects in accordance with the latest international standards, in addition to its contribution to major development and strategic projects that have contributed to supporting economic development and improving infrastructure in many international markets.

    CHEC confirmed its interest in the Libyan market and its readiness to enter effective investment partnerships in the field of renewable energies, especially solar energy projects, which contributes to supporting Libya’s efforts to diversify energy sources and enhance reliance on clean and sustainable energy.

    At the conclusion of the meeting, views were exchanged on future cooperation prospects, and the possibility of implementing joint projects that contribute to transferring expertise and modern technologies, supporting sustainable development plans and promoting investment in the renewable energy sector.

    China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd. (CHEC) is a major global engineering contractor and a prominent subsidiary of the state-owned China Communications Construction Company (CCCC). Headquartered in Beijing, the company specializes in marine engineering, dredging, road and bridge construction, and large-scale infrastructure projects across more than 100 countries.

    CHEC acts as the primary international branch for CCCC, spearheading the delivery of key infrastructure as part of the Belt and Road Initiative
