The University of Szeged (SZTE) will award the honorary title of Doctor Honoris Causa to László Krasznahorkai, announced the SZTE, which also announced that the Nobel Prize-winning writer will be a guest and star at university events in May.
Between 1973 and 1976, Krasznahorkai studied law at the József Attila University of Szeged (JATE), his first written work as a law student interested in the arts, a film review, was published in the student newspaper of the JATE Faculty of State and Law Tarkovsky “Andrei Rublev”with the title Krasznahorkai later remained in close contact with the University of Szeged. He participated in discussions, round tables and book presentations organized by SZTE BTK and SZTE Ferenc Móra College. For example, in the auditorium of the Klebelsberg Library and Archives of the SZTE, among the literary-historical meetings of the Móra College, you can listen to a 1985 lecture by the Satan Tango about his novel, as well as a meeting in 1996.
The Faculty of Arts in Szeged pays tribute to the Nobel Prize-winning artist with four events in May. Always for Homer At the event, the writer himself will take the stage, when with the help of drummer Miklós Szilveszter, he will conjure up the Homeric night sky with the slowly fading stars for the Szeged audience. The events take place as part of the University Spring. The events are free to attend, but prior registration is required for three events.
The Swedish Academy last year awarded on October 9 the Nobel prize for literature to the Kossuth award-winning writer. According to the official justification, Krasznahorkai received the recognition for his visionary works, which are able to show the power of art even in the midst of apocalyptic terror.
