Cercado de Lima: Lifeless body found on the Yellow Line Expressway

A man was found dead during the night of Sunday, July 26 at the Yellow Line expresswaynear the limit between the Lima fence and the district of Carmen de la Legua. The victim remains as NN.

The first investigations point to a possible traffic accident with fatal consequences, although authorities continue to collect evidence to clarify what happened.

The body was found lying on the track towards Universitaria Avenue. According to preliminary information from the Peruvian National Police (PNP), the case is being investigated as an alleged hit-and-run of the driver involved.

So far, the identity of the victim has not been established, so the proceedings also seek to gather information that will allow the deceased to be identified and reconstruct his last hours.

Although the discovery occurred on Sunday night, the body remained on the road until dawn while the corresponding procedures were carried out.

A patrol car from the Mirones Bajo police station guarded the scene, while Criminalistics experts and the prosecutor on duty carried out investigations and collected evidence to determine the circumstances of the incident.

Investigators are working to establish how the alleged accident occurred and determine who is responsible for the case. Likewise, it is expected that the expertise will make it possible to identify the victim and obtain clues that lead to the driver who would have escaped after the accident.

Finally, as a preventive measure, a Yellow Line road assistance unit was located at the beginning of the descent to warn drivers and divert traffic in the direction of Universitaria Avenue.
