Ghana, led by Portuguese coach Carlos Queiroz, took this Tuesday (23 June) an important step towards the round of 32 of the 2026 Football World Cup, by drawing 0-0 with the ‘powerful’ England, in Foxborough.
After the ‘in-extremis’ victory over Panama, 1-0, with a goal in the 90+5 minutes, by Caleb Yirenki, the Africans scored against the English and came closer to repeating 2006 (round of 16) and 2010 (quarter-finals).
The English (4-2 in goals) and the Ghanaians (1-0) remain in the top two places in Group L, with four points, while Panama and Croatia are at zero, before facing each other today in the second round, in Toronto, Canada.
