A car collides with the girl’s e-scooter in the intersection area in Oberndorf an der Melk. The child dies and a second girl is seriously injured.
When an e-scooter collided with a car in an intersection in Oberndorf an der Melk (Scheibbs district), the twelve-year-old passenger of the scooter was killed on Wednesday evening. The driver of the scooter, who was the same age – both girls come from the Melk district – suffered serious injuries and was transported away by emergency helicopter, the Lower Austria State Police Department reported in a broadcast on Thursday.
The accident occurred on Wednesday around 6 p.m. at the intersection of the B29 and the L6140. The twelve-year-old driver probably first stopped the e-scooter at the intersection and then drove on to turn left. The 23-year-old driver driving on the B29 performed emergency braking and evasive maneuvers, but this did not prevent the collision.
