Cambodia’s Ministry of National Defence has arranged another observation visit for members of the Military Attachés Corps in Phnom Penh (MACPP), taking them to Stung Meteuk Bridge in Pursat province to review conditions on the ground.
According to Lt Gen Maly Socheata, spokeswoman for the Ministry of National Defence, the visit took place yesterday at 2.30 pm, as part of the second annual tour of 2026.
The Ministry said the purpose of the visit was to allow foreign military representatives to observe and verify conditions at the bridge site.
Stung Meteuk Bridge was destroyed in an airstrike by Thai Air Force fighter jets on December 13, 2025. The Ministry described the bridge as purely civilian infrastructure, located dozens of kilometres from the Cambodian-Thai border.
The Royal Government of Cambodia and the Ministry of National Defence reaffirmed their commitment to resolving all border issues peacefully in accordance with international law and relevant bilateral agreements.
They also said Cambodia remains committed to fully observing the Joint Statement of the Third Special Meeting of the General Border Committee held on December 27, 2025. AKP
