Businesswoman Tricia Marajh was shot and killed at her workplace along Riverside Road, Curepe, on Tuesday afternoon.
Marajh, the owner of T’s Tasty Treats and D Duck Ranch Poultry Depot, was attacked at around 4.30 p.m.
According to police, residents reported hearing about ten gunshots and alerted the St Joseph Police Station.
Officers responded and found Marajh suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, where she was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police said the suspect had not been detained up to late Tuesday night and investigations are continuing.
Marajh’s killing pushed the murder toll to 99 for the year. On the same date last year, the toll stood at 107.
