The RS Berkane takes the lead
In Berkane, Mouine Chaabani’s protégés also provided the essentials against Ittihad of Tangier. In a long-closed match, the Oranges had to wait until the locker room to make the difference. The turning point of the match came in the 52nd minute when the referee designated the penalty spot. Oussama Lamlioui was quick to convert the opportunity and offer three precious points to his team.
Thanks to this success at home, the Berkane Sports Renaissance temporarily takes the lead in the championship with 46 points, once again confirming its consistency this season. Ittihad of Tangier remains in 10th place with 26 points.
FUS hanging in Rabat, Hassania takes on the Souss derby
The two other matches played on Monday concerned teams engaged in the soft underbelly and in the fight to maintain. At the Moulay El Hassan stadium in Rabat, the FUS of Rabat and the Difaa Hassani from El Jadida parted with a goalless draw (0-0). A closed meeting with few clear opportunities which does not really suit the business of either team. The Fussistes remain stuck in eighth place with 29 points, while the DHJ maintains its sixth place with 31 units.
Further down in the table, the Hassania of Agadir won the Souss derby by winning against Dcheira Olympic (1-0) on the lawn of the Grand Stade d’Agadir. An important success which allows the Gadiris to distance themselves from the dangerous zone, while the OD continues to fight for its survival among the elite. This first part of the 23rd day thus benefited RS Berkane and Wydad, who remain fully engaged in the battle for the first places. However, the ranking could still evolve in a Botola Pro that is more competitive than ever.
