The Miss Universe Belize Foundation says the Miss Universe franchise for Belize has been granted to an organisation based in El Salvador. This brings an end, at least for now, to the Foundation’s stewardship of the national pageant.
According to the foundation, after the events of 2025, it had informed Miss Universe that it intended to temporarily step away and reorganise with plans to return in 2027. “However, the decision was ultimately made by Miss Universe to grant the franchise to an organisation based in El Salvador.”
The Foundation described the outcome as disappointing and pointed to the work carried out over the years by its delegates, queens, volunteers, sponsors and supporters.
“We take great pride in the transformation and growth of our delegates and queens, many of whom have gone on to become leaders, role models, and ambassadors for Belize,” the Foundation said.
The organisation added that it intentionally created opportunities for local creatives, entrepreneurs and small businesses to showcase their talents and contribute to the pageant’s success.
The Foundation also noted that Miss Universe Belize 2025, Isabella Zabaneh, remains available for appearances, speaking engagements, brand partnerships, community events and marketing opportunities.
