OSIPOVICHI, 10 June (BelTA) – Osipovichi Transport Engineering Plant is exploring the possibility of supplying freight railcars to Africa, Director of Osipovichi Transport Engineering Plant Mirza Choloyan told reporters, BelTA has learned.
The primary market of the enterprise is Russia, but it is also keen to explore other export destinations. The manufacturer regularly showcases its products at international industry exhibitions. Most recently, the enterprise presented its technical capabilities in Uzbekistan.


A delegation from the plant has also recently returned from Tanzania. According to Mirza Choloyan, the African market offers considerable potential. “The project we are currently thinking about involves the supply of freight railcars and containers, as well as cooperation and assistance in setting up production facilities,” he said.
The company is also exploring opportunities in other countries. In particular, Georgian Railway has expressed interest in Belarusian rail supplies.
Mirza Choloyan noted that the company is open to various forms of cooperation, including industrial partnership projects.
The enterprise invests annually in upgrading its equipment. Plans include mastering new laser-cutting technologies. The plant has recently purchased two CNC lathes, which will help optimize a number of component-processing operations.




The company produces freight rolling stock, standard containers, and tank containers. The plant can manufacture up to 2,000 freight railcars per year.
