He said these things in the speech of the chief guest at the 11-party unity divisional meeting at Khulna Circuit House ground on Saturday afternoon.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman said that the verdict of the referendum given by the people and the implementation of the July charter should be ensured. If this issue is not resolved in the parliament, I will go to the people in different parts of the country and present our position. Where we do not need the Speaker’s permission to speak, we will speak to the people.
He said that the people of the country stood for change in the hope of non-discrimination, corruption-free and democratic state system. But the expectations of the people have not yet been fulfilled.
Referring to the border situation, the opposition leader said that the people of the country and the law and order forces will work together to protect the sovereignty and security of Bangladesh. Bangladesh will not bow down to any foreign domination or aggression.
