An armed man who this Wednesday killed a couple and barricaded himself with two children as hostages in the Obispos municipality, Barinas statesurrendered to the authorities after more than 10 hours of negotiations.
It was learned that the aggressor expressed a willingness to surrender and demanded the presence of a prosecutor from the Public Ministry and a pastor to mediate the surrender.
After committing the crime, the attacker barricaded himself in an apartment in the La Gran Villa urban development, block 10, where he kept the two minors hostage. Police surrounded the building waiting for a prosecutor.
A commission made up of officials from the María Ignacia del Pumar Peace Quadrant, the Bolivarian National Guard, the Bolivarian National Police, the Fire Department and the Barinas State Police was then deployed to guard the area and protect the integrity of the children.
Unofficial information at the scene indicates that the aggressor had demanded that the couple, made up of Karla Carolina Hernández and Wilfredo Serrano, vacate the property, presumably their property.
The victims would have refused to vacate on the grounds that they had minor children.
The children who were held by the attacker would be between 6 and 14 years old.
A commission from the Scientific, Criminal and Criminal Investigation Corps (Cicpc), under the command of Commissioner Douglas Rico, moved to the site to undertake the investigations.
