The pupil of the Kaunas Swimming School, who improved the national women’s 200 m freestyle record on Thursday, recorded another record-breaking swim on Friday.
In the women’s 400 m freestyle A final, I.Jurkūnaitė finished in 4 minutes. 15.53 sec. and surpassed Sylvia Statkevičius’s best achievement of the country’s women before this competition (4 min. 17.94 sec.).
At the same time, I. Jurkūnaitė renewed the record for Lithuanian girls under 17 years of age.
Silver in the final, as in the 200 m distance held yesterday, went to Ieva Nainyta (4 min. 21.44 sec), bronze to Ieva Visockatei (2 min. 23.05 sec.).
