Andorra has been accepted as a full member of the Inhope international networkwhich brings together organizations from around the world in the fight against online child sexual abuse. This collaboration will improve the country’s ability to respond to illicit content, facilitate the exchange of information with other international agencies and guarantee compliance with global cyber security and child protection standards.
This is a great milestone achieved by Andorra Digital, through the National Agency for Cybersecurity (ANC-AD) and the Digital Welfare and Competences Centerwho have worked consistently and consistently to define and implement a specific action plan to prevent problematic Internet use and risky behaviors with the aim of improving the early detection of vulnerable situations and offering training to young people and families.
Digital Andorra was invited to explain the institutional model in this matter at the “Sesión de Miembros: LATAM y Ámbito Hispanohablante”. The presentation focused on the launch of the Center for Wellness and Digital Skillsadvances in the protection of minors online, and the implementation of reporting channels for CSAM (child sexual abuse content) online to one of the most vulnerable groups: children and adolescents. The presentation of the project was received and applauded as an ‘example of an institutional model to follow due to its transversality and preventive function through the creation of educational tools and publications close to children, adolescents and related associations to generate sensitivity and alertness on this very delicate subject’.
This agreement is an important step to address digital well-being as a fundamental axis of digital transformation from a transversal and integrated perspective.
The intensive use of technology can have negative impacts on the physical, mental, social and emotional health of people, especially the most vulnerable groups such as children and adolescents. For this reason, Andorra wants to ensure a healthy balance between technology and everyday life, promoting a conscious, critical and positive digital culture.
Action plan for the protection of children and adolescents against illegal content online
Digital Andorrafrom the hand of Digital Wellbeing Center and the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANC-AD)will define a specific action plan to prevent problematic Internet use and risky behaviors with the aim of improving the early detection of vulnerable situations and offering training to young people and families. In addition, it is planned to strengthen the regulatory framework to protect the rights of children and adolescents, and to ensure effective communication between the Administration and citizens.
This strategy is based on six key principles: the protection of children against digital violence, respect for their privacy, family responsibility, the guarantee of safe and progressive access to the digital environment, training and awareness through education, and the active involvement of professionals who work with minors and the entire educational and social community.
With this membership, Andorra reaffirms its commitment to the protection of children’s rights and cyber security while aligning itself with global regulations in the fight against child pornography through international cooperation and the adoption of good practices.
