A complaint about a case of alleged sexual abuse against a 16-year-old student activated a police investigation at the Almirante Guise Naval High School, located in the San Borja district. The teenager’s family filed a complaint with the Police and, subsequently, agents went to the educational center during school hours to carry out procedures related to the case. According to the Ministry of Women, A group of students were taken to the San Borja police station, where they remained accompanied by their parents while the first performances took place. ATV indicated that there were eight students fifth year of secondary school.

The information released so far corresponds to a complaint under investigation, so the exact circumstances of what happened and possible responsibilities must be determined by the competent authorities.
ATV reported that the eight schoolchildren were intervened after the family of the affected student went to the Police. The case would also have motivated the intervention of the Public Ministry for the corresponding proceedings.
When dealing with minors, the authorities must apply the corresponding special provisions during the investigation, guaranteeing both the protection of the adolescent complainant and due process for the students involved.

Statement from the educational institution.
The Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP) confirmed that it is dealing with the case of a 16-year-old adolescent who was the victim of sexual violence allegedly committed by classmates at the Naval High School in San Borja.
Through the National Warmi Ñan Program, the sector reported that it provides legal assistance and psychological support to the adolescent and his family. Likewise, he specified that a multidisciplinary team will participate in the proceedings scheduled by the Prosecutor’s Office to contribute to the clarification of the facts and the determination of responsibilities.
Given the facts, the educational institution, governed by the Peruvian Navy, issued the statement, indicating that “in light of the serious incident of alleged physical aggression that recently occurred between students, the institution has acted immediately and has been carrying out the corresponding actions and coordination with the competent bodies.”
