Acting Prime Minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, on the sidelines of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit, held a meeting with the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and at the same time Vice-President of the European Commission, Kaja Kallas.
During the meeting, the political situation in the region as well as security issues were discussed, in an increasingly interconnected context of international challenges. Acting Prime Minister Kurti emphasized the importance of alignment with the European Union in addressing these challenges and advancing the European integration of the Republic of Kosovo.
In this direction, Acting Prime Minister Kurti reconfirmed Kosovo’s commitment to the reform agenda and the request to obtain the status of a candidate country for EU membership, underlining the progress of our country and the need for fair treatment, based on merit.
Also, they talked about the latest political developments in the country, including the implementation of the law on foreigners and the agreement of March 14, which was evaluated as a new and positive momentum for the way forward.
During the meeting, the process of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia was also discussed, as well as the issue of Albanians in Presevo, Medvegja and Bujanoc, where the acting Prime Minister Kurti raised concerns regarding the passivation of addresses and the impossibility of financial support for the Valley from the Government of the Republic of Kosovo.
The meeting took place in a constructive spirit and served for an open exchange of views on topics of common interest, reaffirming the importance of continuing close communication and close cooperation between the state institutions of Kosovo and the European Union.
