“OpenAI” launches a new update to upgrade the “GPT Chat” memory
OpenAI has announced the launch of an update to the memory feature in its smart assistant, “GPT Chat,” called “Dreaming,” which allows the assistant to understand the user’s preferences and past contexts more accurately.
The company explained that this update contributes to improving the ability of “GPT Chat” to customize its responses and reduce the problem of the aging of stored information, as it creates a “memory summary” that the user can view at any time, with the ability to add or modify information, in addition to specifying the cases in which the assistant should make use of that data and preferences during responses.
The feature integrates with the “Memory Sources” feature that the company launched in conjunction with the launch of the “GPT-5.5 Instant” model, which allows the user to know the information he relied on to customize his answers, with the ability to modify or delete it when needed.
The company said that GBT Chat will automatically continue to review its memories over time to keep the information current, which helps it avoid relying on outdated data or referring to past events as if they are still coming.
OpenAI has begun rolling out the new memory system to subscribers of the Plus and Pro plans in the United States starting today, and will reach the rest of the countries in the coming weeks.
