The national football team began its technical and physical training in its official camp for the 2026 World Cup in Portland, Oregon, USA, in preparation for the Nashama’s historic participation in the World Cup.

The Jordanian fans were keen to receive the Nashama delegation, which arrived in Portland on Thursday afternoon, headed by His Highness Prince Ali bin Al Hussein, President of the Federation, along with the national team cadres and players.

The team conducted its first training session on Thursday evening, at its official camp in Portland, led by coach Jamal Salami and with the participation of all players.

The list of star players for the World Cup includes 26 players: Yazid Abu Laila, Abdullah Al-Fakhoury, Nour Bani Attiya, Abdullah Nassib, Saad Al-Rousan, Yazan Al-Arab, Salim Obaid, Muhammad Abu Al-Nadi, Hossam Abu Dahab, Ihsan Haddad, Anas Badawi, Muhannad Abu Taha, Muhammad Abu Hashish, Muhammad Abu Ghosh, Nour Al-Rawabdeh, Nizar Al-Rashdan, Ibrahim Saada, Rajai Ayed, Amer Jamous, Muhammad Al-Dawoud, Mahmoud Mardi, Odeh Al-Fakhouri, Musa Al-Taamari, Muhammad Abu Zureiq, Ali Azaizeh, and Ali Alwan.

For his part, Salami stressed his pride in the team’s presence in the World Cup finals, noting that participation in this global sports forum represents an important opportunity to highlight the positive and honorable image of Jordan on the international scene, and reflects the development and remarkable presence that Al-Nashama has achieved.

Salami added that the Jordanian group is one of the strongest groups in the tournament, as it includes the Argentine national team, the holder of the previous edition’s title, along with the Algerian national team, which has experienced elements, and the ambitious Austria national team, which returned strongly during the qualifiers.

The Nashama team will participate in the 2026 World Cup finals, in Group 10, alongside the teams of Argentina, Algeria, and Austria.

The Nashama team will begin its participation in the 2026 World Cup finals by meeting Austria at seven in the morning on Wednesday, June 17, at Santa Clara Stadium in San Francisco, then facing Algeria at six in the morning on Tuesday, the 23 of the same month, at the same stadium. The group stage will conclude with a meeting with Argentina at five in the morning on Sunday, June 28, at Dulles Stadium, as the match times are according to local time in the capital, Amman.
