ZHODINO, 25 June (BelTA) – Deputy Chair of the Accounts Chamber of the Russian Federation Galina Izotova spoke about the development of cooperation between the audit bodies of Belarus and Russia during the session Regional Development: Evaluating Effectiveness, Achieving Priorities and Goals, Supporting the Growth of Economic Potential held at BelAZ as part of the 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia, BelTA has learned.
The session, which brings together audit institutions, is being held within the forum for the third consecutive year at the initiative of the Accounts Chamber of Russia and the State Control Committee of Belarus. “The role of this session in the forum’s final document is growing. This year, for the first time, we are working on recommendations that will be included in the unified final document of the forum. This is important because we not only exchanged experience and discussed key issues, but also laid important foundations for external state audits for future periods,” she said.
The deputy chair emphasized that relations between Belarus and Russia are becoming stronger every year. “For example, in 2025, trade exceeded RUB 4 trillion. This is a significant increase compared to previous years. Interregional cooperation, one of the driving forces of our union, is also strengthening. Today, around 270 Russia-Belarus interregional cooperation agreements are in effect, and their number will increase during the 13th Forum [of Regions],” Galina Izotova stressed.
She also noted that ensuring balanced regional development is a national priority for both Belarus and Russia.
The 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia is taking place in Minsk and Minsk Oblast on 25-26 June. The first day program includes section meetings, an expert session, and a meeting of the Union State Standardization and Quality Committee. Over the years, the forum has become a traditional dialogue platform for government representatives and business communities of Russia and Belarus. The organizers of the forum are the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of Belarus and the Federation Council of Russia.
