Abazović: The government should understand that it is because of the citizens that the MAŠV ignored the farmers

The leader of the URA Citizen’s Movement, Dritan Abazović, says that Montenegro needs a new governance model, and that, as he said, implies that we listen to the citizens and try to help them in all possible ways.

This is how the referendum in Bar took place: Dominantly for independence, in four settlements 100 percent for “yes”

“Didn’t the bad practice from the previous period teach us that we need to change things for the better,” Abazović asked.

He called on the Government to adopt anti-crisis measures as soon as possible, stating in the author’s podcast “Friday with Dritana” that all the announcements, including the World Bank’s, are that we are facing a drastic increase in energy prices at the global level, and therefore all other products.

Abazović said that it is the government’s duty to listen to the citizens and reminded that the Ministry of Agriculture ignored the protest of the farmers, who were in front of their headquarters.

“I think that the government should understand that it is there for the sake of the citizens. That the citizens sometimes have needs that can be processed and sometimes they may be unrealistic. But, whether they are realistic or unrealistic, it is always the duty of someone exercising the power to listen to them and give them the correct answer,” said Abazović.

    Increase pensions

Abazović reminded that the URA has already asked the Government to prepare anti-crisis measures due to the announcement of a drastic increase in energy prices, which will also lead to an increase in the prices of other products.

“We are not giving up on the demand that pensions be increased immediately, already this month, by the amount for which there is money in the budget. When it comes to salaries, I once again express my full support to the Trade Union and in general to all employees, whether in the public or private sector, that the coefficient be increased as they demand, from 90 to 100 euros, which means that salaries would be a little higher. We need a different economic model, a different economic policy, and the URA is the one that is fighting for both higher salaries and pensions,” said its leader.

When asked by citizens about the devastation of forests in the north of the country, he reminded that the URA, while in power, started the fight against the forestry mafia, but that this Government is not interested in that. Montenegro is losing something most valuable, he said, namely the forests that should be preserved for our children and grandchildren.

“The priority of the new government must be the development of infrastructure in the north, which includes the opening of the Berane airport, the reconstruction of all roads, including rural roads, which could help us have a faster flow of people and goods and which could also revive the tourism economy,” he said.

Abazović also commented on RTCG’s announcements about public opinion research.

“It’s not a matter of them talking about how PES has some huge support, and they need it after everything that’s happening to them and what Medenica and the others present to them every day in public. The goal is that, among other things, the DPS is held high so that this unfortunate majority, which is currently in force, manages to homogenize its people so that they say: don’t, however, if this continues, the DPS will return,” Abazović added.
