Tazabek – With the participation of the President Sadyr Japarova Today, June 14, a solar power plant (SPP) is being launched in Issyk-Kul with a total design capacity of 1900 MW.
Today the station produces 175 MW of power. It is located in the Kyzyl-Oruk area on the territory of the Toru-Aigyr-Tamchy aiyl aimak, Issyk-Kul region.
Today, its first stage has been put into operation – a solar power plant with a peak power of 175 MW, a 110 kV substation and associated power transmission infrastructure. The volume of investments in the first stage amounted to 130 million US dollars. When operating at full design capacity, the first stage is expected to generate approximately 192 million kWh of electricity annually.
It is reported that as part of the subsequent stages of the project, it is planned to introduce additional capacity: 450 MW in 2027 and another 1,300 MW in 2028.
