The Armed Forces of Ukraine reacted to a video circulated on social networks showing the use of force by a man in military uniform against a man in handcuffs, noting that “the fact of the offense has been confirmed” and the search for the person involved in the beating of the soldier continues.

Literally from the message of the Ground Forces: “A video showing the use of force against a serviceman is circulating on the Internet. Some of the publications are accompanied by statements about the alleged involvement of the commander of the 155th separate mechanized brigade in this event.

We inform you that according to the currently available information, the commander of 155 ombre is not the person recorded on the video, and is not involved in the actions shown on it.”
Details: About an hour before the announcement by the Ground Forces, a video was published on social networks in which a man in uniform kicks a man in handcuffs.
Literally from the message of the Ground Forces: “According to the fact of the event, an official inspection has been appointed. Its task is to establish all the circumstances of the incident, to provide a proper legal assessment of the actions of the persons involved, and to ensure further response in cooperation with authorized law enforcement agencies.
The injured serviceman is provided with the necessary medical assistance. The command is in contact with his family.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine do not tolerate violence, humiliation of human dignity or actions contrary to military discipline and the law. All the established facts must receive a proper legal evaluation, and the guilty persons must answer in accordance with the law.
Further information will be provided after establishing the circumstances in accordance with the procedure provided for by law.”
Details: Also, the Military Service of Law and Order in the Armed Forces of Ukraine commented on the released video, noting that it confirms the fact of the offense and the “man in uniform” involved in it.
Literally from the notification of the Military Law and Order Service of the Armed Forces of Ukraine: “At this time, military law enforcement officers have visited the scene of the incident, the fact of the offense has been confirmed. Interaction with the command of the military unit has been established. The location of the victim has been established, who was promptly taken to a medical facility, where he was given the necessary assistance.
The serviceman’s health is satisfactory.
Also, his family members were informed about the mentioned fact, state of health and whereabouts of the serviceman.
Regarding the serviceman involved in the beating: it was established that he is a soldier, an air defense operator of one of the units. After committing the offense, he voluntarily left the military unit. Guidance on his detention has been sent to all units of the Security Service and the National Police. Search operations are ongoing.
In order to establish all the causes and circumstances of the offense, as well as to determine the possible persons involved, by the decision of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, an official inspection was appointed, the conduct of which was entrusted to the Eastern Territorial Department of the Military Law and Order Service.
Based on the results of the inspection, the collected materials will be handed over to law enforcement agencies for entering information into the Unified Register of Pretrial Investigations and making the appropriate legal decision in accordance with the legislation of Ukraine.”
