The incident on June 5. happened around 10 p.m. 11 minutes Rinktinė str. an out-of-control BMW car flew off the road, crossed the sidewalk and crashed into the showcase glass wall of the Courtyard by Marriott Vilnius City Center hotel.
After breaking the glass, the BMW stopped, the front part of the car got stuck inside the hotel restaurant, the rear part remained in the street. On the way, the car dragged a broken small tree with it.
According to preliminary data, no one was injured during the incident, but the glass window part of the hotel wall was broken into shards. The car was also damaged, its airbags went off.
According to the police, according to initial data, the driver was sober.
“He just lost control of his car,” officials said.
According to witnesses, two young men were driving the cars. After the accident, they got out of the car themselves.
The incident is under investigation.
