– All high-ranking officials are alive, says Araghchi.
– We may have lost one or two commanders, but it is not a big problem. We are handling it, says the foreign minister to NBC News.
According to the Iranian television station al-Alam, Khamenei will address the Iranian people on Saturday afternoon.
Earlier, Iranian authorities announced that Khamenei had moved to safety after the US and Israel launched attacks against Iran on the night of Saturday.
An Israeli military spokesman says, according to the AFP news agency, that several senior figures in the Iranian regime have been “eliminated” in Saturday’s attack.
– Three places where there were gatherings of the Iranian terrorist regime were hit simultaneously and several high-ranking figures who were crucial to the management of the campaign and the governance of the regime were eliminated, says the Israeli military officer in a statement.
Three unnamed sources told the Reuters news agency that the Iranian defense minister, Amir Nasirzadeh, is believed to have lost his life in Israeli attacks.
The same must be the case for a leader in the powerful Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Mohammad Pakpour.
The information has not been confirmed by the official team in Iran.
Satellite photos published by an Iranian media show that Khamenei’s official residence has been hit in the Israeli-American strikes.
