The presidential candidate of the Historical Pact, Ivan Cepedarejected the death threats and the vandalization of one of the campaign headquarters of the candidate for the Democratic Center, Paloma Valencia. The government of President Gustavo Petro also announced that it will reinforce its security scheme.
“I condemn all forms of political violence. I condemn any form of aggression or political violence against my adversaries. I call for respect and to treat all political differences with care,” Cepeda said via X.

In the same trill, in which he shared one of the images of the Democratic Center campaign headquarters in Bucaramanga (Santander) vandalized condemned the death threats that have circulated on social networks against the candidate.
“I reject the threats against the lives of the candidates participating in the electoral process for the Presidency of the Republic,” Cepeda wrote.
Likewise, the Petro government reported that security will be reinforced for the Uribista candidate and a reward of up to $1 billion was announced for information that would prevent attacks against presidential candidates.

“We categorically reject the death threats against the candidate Paloma Valencia and the vandalization of one of her campaign headquarters. From the National Government we have provided all security guarantees, especially to opposition candidates, with advance measures and without political bias,” wrote the Minister of the Interior, Armando Benedetti.
“The authorities are acting to clarify the facts and reinforce protection,” added Benedetti and minutes later the Minister of Defense, Pedro Sanchezannounced the reward to prevent any type of aggression or attack against the 13 candidates for the House of Nariño who are participating in the elections.
The threats that the Valencia campaign speaks of occurred through social networks, in which an image of the candidate has circulated along with a funeral wreath indicating her year of birth and 2026.
“It has been demonstrated that there are not sufficient guarantees for the opposition in this electoral process. The only guarantees seem to be being offered to the government candidate. I call on citizens and all political forces to unanimously reject violence,” Valencia said in a statement.
