The president of the United States, donald trumpstated this Saturday that the “cleaning process” of mines in the Strait of Hormuzwhile his country and Iran begin peace negotiations in Pakistan to end the war.
“We are now beginning the process of cleaning up the Strait of Hormuz as a favor to countries around the world, including China, Japan, South Korea, France, Germany and many others,” he said on his Truth Social network.
Trump, who has criticized his allies in recent weeks for refusing to militarily reopen the sea route blocked by Tehran, assured that those countries “do not have the courage or the will to do this job themselves.”
He also attacked the media because, as he said, “they love to say that Iran is winning when, in reality, everyone knows that they are losing, and losing a lot.”
“Its Navy has disappeared, its Air Force has disappeared, its anti-aircraft system is non-existent, its radars have died, its missile and drone factories have been practically annihilated along with the missiles and drones themselves and, most importantly, its lifelong ‘leaders’ are no longer with us, praise Allah!” he said.
In another message this Saturday, he assured that he is closely following the fertilizer pricesaffected by the war, and that “will not tolerate speculation” that harms American farmers.
Likewise, he stated that a large number of oil tankers from around the world head to the United States to “load the best and most precious oil“, in reference to the American, due to the war in Iran.
Negotiations between the United States and Iran began this Saturday in Islamabad, with the participation of US Vice President JD Vance, the day after Trump warned that he will open the Strait of Hormuz by force if the talks fail.
Since the announcement of the temporary ceasefire between both countries, some ships have transited through the Strait of Hormuz, although tensions maintain uncertainty about the strength of the truce.
