In the last few hours, the Maldonado Police issued a request for collaboration to locate Lucas Leonardo Garandán Bueno, the 23-year-old man identified as the co-author of the double homicide in Cerro Pelado.
The investigation into the incident, which occurred on the night of Sunday, March 22, when Eric Damián Rodríguez Cedrés, alias “Pikachú,” 31, and another 37-year-old man were seriously injured after being attacked at point-blank range in a home on Pororó Street that functioned as a drug sales outlet, continues its course under the orbit of the Department of Complex Events.

According to the judicial information presented by the police department, Garandán Bueno was one of the two subjects who arrived at the scene on a motorcycle and opened fire before fleeing. The other, identified as Santiago Cabrera, voluntarily appeared before the authorities on March 26 and was later sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Rodríguez Cedrés died at the scene after being shot in the chest, while the other man, 37 years old, was transferred alive to a healthcare center, where he remained hospitalized in critical condition until his death days later.
Who is Lucas Leonardo Garandán Bueno?
According to the official poster issued by the Ministry of the Interior, Garandán Bueno is wanted in the framework of a homicide investigation in the department of Maldonado. In the released image, particular signs can be seen, including various tattoos in the face and neck area.
According to a report from February 2024, the man identified today as a co-author of the double homicide in Cerro Pelado had perpetrated the theft of a motorcycle from a woman in the Parque Medina area, in San Carlos.
As part of the investigations that began some time ago, Operational Zone III Investigations personnel, in compliance with a court order, proceeded to arrest him at his home and refer him to police stations. According to the report, the detainee indicated the location where the stolen motorcycle was located, which was later seized.
For this fact, Garandán Bueno, then 21 years old, was sentenced to an effective prison sentence of 13 months by the 4th Shift Legal Court.
