Popular vocalist Jermaine “Chubby” Clarke, lead singer of the Kollision Band, has been shot and killed in a shocking incident in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to initial reports, Clarke had just concluded a performance in Keys when he was attacked. He was reportedly in his vehicle when he was shot multiple times, sending shockwaves across the Federation.
Government Minister with responsibility for Sports, Small Business, Entrepreneurship, Cooperatives and the Creative Economy, Hon. Samal Duggins, confirmed Clarke’s passing in an official statement issued on Sunday, April 5, 2026.
In the statement, Minister Duggins described Clarke as more than just an artist, calling him “a spirit, a presence, and a voice that brought joy, energy, and connection to so many.”
He said Clarke’s contribution to the cultural landscape of St. Kitts and Nevis was significant, noting that the young entertainer helped shape and promote the unique sound of the Federation.
“Today, we mourn not just a talented musician, but a young man who carried and championed the unique sound of our Federation,” the Minister stated.
Condolences have been extended to Clarke’s family, friends, fellow band members, and his loyal supporters, known as the Teflon Dons.
Minister Duggins also urged citizens to reflect on the fragility of life and to hold their loved ones close during this difficult time.
The killing has left the local entertainment industry and wider public in mourning, as many remember Clarke for his energy, talent, and vibrant presence on stage.
Police have not yet released an official statement on the incident, and investigations are expected to be ongoing.
