A group of specialists in electoral matters presented a critical road map to rescue confidence in the vote in Venezuela. During a forum of the civil association Alliance for Venezuela in Argentina, experts urged political forces to agree on the designation of a new National Electoral Council (CNE).
The pillar of this proposal lies in the creation of a Special Electoral Statute, a transitional rule that regulates exclusively the transition elections.
Eugenio Martínez, director of Votoscopio, clarified that this statute seeks to protect the autonomy of the electoral body. The standard would clearly define the responsibilities of the CNE and, above all, would prevent external organizations such as the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ) interfere or block the electoral process.

Political conditions and citizen freedom
Griselda Colina, representative of the Citizen Electoral Network, called on civil society to mobilize to impose these guarantees on the public agenda. He stressed that a free election also demands the end of media censorship so that citizens can decide with accurate information.
Finally, political consultant Luis Peche linked electoral competitiveness with human rights.
