The search is continuing for a 57-year-old Princes Town man who went missing on Saturday during a trip to the Bunsee Trace mud volcano.
The missing man, identified as Ruthven Atkinson of Princes Town, was reportedly part of a group visiting the site when he walked ahead of the others and subsequently disappeared.
Relatives and members of the group raised the alarm after they were unable to locate him, prompting an initial search effort that began shortly after his disappearance. However, by nightfall on Saturday, Atkinson had still not been found.
Search operations resumed on Sunday and have continued into today, with police officers, members of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team, family members, friends, and concerned citizens all taking part in efforts to locate him.
The coordinated search has focused on areas surrounding the Bunsee Trace mud volcano and nearby forested terrain.
Up to latest reports, there has been no sign of Atkinson, and search efforts are ongoing.
