Moments of high tension were experienced on the night of April 11 in the Aurora residential complex, south of Bogotá, when The residents tried to lynch a 14-year-old boy, accused of having sexually abused a 10-year-old girl.

The events would have originated inside an apartment in the aforementioned complex. According to the authorities, it all started as a citizen complaint that It quickly escalated into a confrontation between the community and the Bogotá Metropolitan Police.
The news soon went viral among residents, causing a reaction of collective indignation and, in a few minutes, dozens of people gathered with the intention of taking justice into their own hands and lynching the teenager.
The authorities were present in the residential complex in order to safeguard the life of the minor, who had already received several blows. However, this increased the tension and the arrival of units from the National Unit for Dialogue and Maintenance of Order (UNDMO), former Esmad, was necessary.

According to the videos circulating on social networks, this unit had to use tear gas to disperse the residents who did not let the Police put the alleged aggressor in the patrol car.
Patrol ended up running over a person in the middle of the operation
In the midst of the chaos and disturbance, the public order situation worsened. The community surrounded the uniformed officers in an attempt to prevent the young man from being removed from the scene.

Given the risk that the teenager was running, the agents quickly evacuated him in a patrol car. However, the output of The vehicle was blocked by several citizens who stood in front of the car, trying to prevent it from moving forward.
Just at that moment the most critical event occurred, since the car ran over several people who were on the road and this generated panic among those present.

The exact moment in which the police patrol ran over this person who was blocking the way began to circulate on social networks.
According to the Police statement, one of the people was injured. However, it is unknown the extent of his injuries or whether he is out of danger.
“When the Police vehicle left this place, several people tried to stop it and one of them was injured,” the statement reads.

In addition, they reported that they opened a disciplinary investigation in order to clarify the events that occurred in on the night of April 10, in which other people were also injured as a result of the confrontation that took place.

“The National Police in Bogotá opened a disciplinary investigation, in order to clarify the facts raised”, concludes the statement.
