In the last few hours, the residents of the Aurora complex, located in the town of Usme, in Bogotá, tried to lynch a 14-year-old minor after an alleged abuse against a girl of 10 years. This event triggered riots and clashes between the authorities and neighbors.

Images began to circulate through social networks. According to the accounts of some witnesses, the residents of the complex, upon learning of the facts, reacted with indignation and sought to attack the teenager. The UNDMO (Dialogue and Order Maintenance Unit) had to be present at the scene to try to control the situation.
The authorities detained the minor involved, who was wearing a green helmet, so that the neighbors would not continue attacking him. This caused even more unrest, as they wanted to take justice into their own hands.

During this intervention in the Aurora complex, several people were injured, as seen in the videos, and They were transferred to various healthcare centers in the city. At this time, his health status is unknown.
On the other hand, the authorities were trying to protect the alleged aggressor and everything got worse when they put him in the patrol car. When it started, some people tried to block the vehicle with their bodies, which did not stop and ended up running over some neighbors.
This generated even more annoyance, because, apart from the injured that had already occurred due to the attempted lynching, was added by the one who had run over the police car.

Police statement about what happened
Given the events that occurred on the night of Friday, April 10, the Colombian National Police issued a statement explaining what happened in the complex residential area in the town of Usme, where an entity patrol was involved.
“The community informs the service area that, inside an apartment in a residential complex, apparently a case of sexual abuse had been recorded where a minor would have been the victim of touching by another minor.”

“The National Police in Bogotá opened a disciplinary investigation, in order to clarify the events that occurred,” the statement concluded.
At the moment, the health status of the affected minor and if there is a complaint before the Attorney General’s Office.
