Ulaanbaatar, May 7, 2026
/MONTSAME/. The newly established “Artificial Intelligence and Technology
Commission” of the Mongolian National Olympic Committee (MNOC) held its
inaugural meeting in a hybrid format (in-person and online).
Myagmarjav L., a member of the
MNOC Executive Board, will serve as a Chair of the commission. In recent
years, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has been pursuing a policy of
introducing AI and innovation-based solutions into the sports sector to
increase organizational efficiency and the use of Big Data. Within this
framework, the IOC’s “AI Strategy” was released, and the Olympic Council of
Asia has begun providing training for National Olympic Committees on AI
applications and best practices.
In alignment with these
technological trends, the MNOC aims to improve the data governance of sports
federations, increase the significance of digital data, and implement AI-based
projects and programs.
The President of the MNOC, Battushig
Batbold, participated in the commission’s meeting, where he presented
international best practices and exchanged views on opportunities to create a
positive impact on the Olympic movement through technology. The commission will
focus on increasing data-driven decision-making in sports and prioritize the
localization of international best practices.
