Ulaanbaatar, May 7, 2026 /MONTSAME/. Under Capital City Governor’s Decree, the “Ulaanbaatar Marathon-2026” international race will take place on May 23.
More than 46,000 participants have registered for the 11th edition of the marathon, representing an increase of 16,000 compared to the previous year. A notable feature of this year’s event is that the half-marathon and full-marathon routes have been officially measured and certified, receiving a Class B international measurement certificate valid through 2030 from the International Association of Athletics Federations.
In addition, the marathon will introduce the German-made “Race Result Ubidium” speed and timing system, which is also used in the London and Berlin marathons, for the first time this year.
Due to the increase in participants of the “Ulaanbaatar Marathon-2026,” bib numbers for the 1.5 km and 5 km races will be distributed starting tomorrow at 10:00 through the Capital City and district Sports and Physical Education Committees. Participants may collect their bib numbers from any nearby committee office regardless of their district of residence.
During the marathon, organizers plan to set up five water and nutrition stations, five first-aid stations, and four restroom areas.
The “Ulaanbaatar Marathon” will officially begin at 09:00 on May 23.
