We are already used to the fact that the leading Chinese manufacturers do not skimp on predictions about battery technology. According to the world’s leading battery manufacturer Catl (Contemporary Amperex Technology Limited), lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode batteries are approaching the limit of the highest possible energy density, so in further development it is better to focus on extremely fast charging. The company claims that the new generation of their battery of this type charges from 10 to 90 percent in six and a half minutes. Catl thus responds to the main competitor BYD (Build Your Dreams), which with the battery blade 2.0 (also LFP) enables charging from 10 to 70 percent of the battery to take five minutes.
